Fan making noise on Aquapod 12 Gallon

Hey all,

my aquapod is around 2 weeks old. well when i lift up the lid with the lights on so it is completly vertical it makes sort of a grinding noise, is this normal? when it is down it sounds normal, a little loud, but normal. I was thinking of upgrading it with a quieter fan, but i suck at electrical work, more scared to do it, is it easy?

just run a search for a 2 pin 40 mm or 60 mm i cant remember which at the moment. the aquapod 12 has pin connections therefore you wouldnt even have to soldier anything to add a second and replace the first.

In the center you can see the current converter for the fans. it leads out to that green circ board which has 2 spaces for fan plug ins.
Might i siggest while you are in there to cut out the bottom portion of the cover vents it allows for much greater flow.

ENraged how do you take the lid off of the hinges? I've figured out the 24...but the 12 is totally different.

I gave up trying to take mine off.
I did my work with the tank on its side i have yet to hear of someone taking the lid off so i am in the same boat as the rest of you.

lift it up about 40 degrees then slide it out @ an angle
