I found some Cheap 4 3/4" fans at a wholesale electronics store. the fan is $6.00, the grill is $1.25 and the DC transformer plug is $3.95. They are 12VDC and 700mA...would two of those be okay? i know the ones you buy in the catalog are like 115VAC....does that make a difference? how fast do they have to be?

My enclosure will house a 175 watt metal halide and 2x18W actinics. the fixture will be 13 inches above the water. i am putting a 4 3/4" fan on each side...one will blow into the canopy and the other will blow air out. I Really need some advice because i dont want to buy anything that i will regret.

To find out how much air a fan moves you need to find the CFM (cubic feet per minute) That will let you know how much air you can move throught there. The higher the CFM the more air you will move:)

I baught a whole bunch of cheepies of ebay. Was like 20 pc fans for 25 bucks. They dont move a lot of air individually but with 10 they move quite a bit. And silenly i might add. They are so silent i can put a fan anywere I want. When im done encloding the tank I will probably use all 20. I also got 2 fans with blue led's in them. I use these to blow air over top of the water and moonlights at night.

Def. get fans regardless of what they are.
