Fans for summer...

I'm looking to get a small DC fan fixture for attaching to my sump to help cool my tank during the summer...

I have seen many pictures of tanks with these on them, but I don't know the brand nor anythign else about them.

The only part is I can't have a huge wall ac-dc adapter as it would be plugged in and controlled by my AC3.

Any ideas??

Large ac/dc adapter problem: solved.

poisonus, that link doesn't work. do you have a link to the product??

thanks!

i have also looked at the azoo fans, but I think they have a large dc power supply... is this right?

ya i gotcha... It would have to be super quiet, thats the only thing...

did you just get a small clip on ac fan?

also, the reason i was looking at those small, clip-on sump/tank units is that i have essentially no room under my sump, and the fan would have to be in the sump area..

I also use a small computer fan to keep the heat off of my halides, it has been running for almost 5 years 24/7 without ever having any problems...

is there a temperature controller that you could buy for a clip on fan? i know about the icecap fans, i was just wondering if there is something i could buy at the hardware store to work as well.

im sure there are lots of temp controllers to use... in my case though, i would be hooking it up to my AC3. and have it go on should the tank get too warm.

A bit of a DIY but I just ripped a fan out of an old computer case, stripped the wires on it and an old wall wart and wired them together, then glued it to the inside of my light fixture with gorilla glue. Worked great on my almost completely enclosed top for an 8g custom and 150w hqi. If you dont have an old case lying around the fans are cheep online or even at stores($5) and really quiet, and who doesnt have an old wall wart? You would still need the extension to connect it to the controller though.

the large dc power thingy that i was trying to avoid getting.. looks like that power extender thing would be perfect.

thanks for the ideas guys! i really appreciate them!
