Faulty TDS meter?

I have the handheld TDS meter by HM Digital. For some reason, when measuring my RODI water, I get different readings all the time. The same sample will measure consistantly, however if I take two samples of RODI water say, 6 hrs apart, I will get DRASTICALLY different numbers.

Example: Tested my new filters immediately at 193ppm. Being as how they are new filters, I expected this. So I tested again an hr later at 3ppm. Sweet! So I let it run all night, getting about 10 gallons, and tested. 44ppm!!!

Even when I had used, broken in filters I was getting completely random test samples.

I just don't understand why my RODI can have such drastically different readings all the time. The tap water going in measures between 65-77 fairly consistantly...

Help!! Could something be up with my RODI and not my TDS?

I would first find out if your TDS meter is correct. Find a friend who has one or take yours to a FS and start running some comparison tests. I would also contact the manufacturer. Find out if your TDS meter is accurate first before you start tearing apart your RODI unit.
