Favia/Favites Question

I recently got frag from the LFS. They said it was a favites, war coral. I had a question about the growth pattern. It was the typical brick cut frag with the red fleshy part only on top of the brick and a hard substance making up the rest of the brick. It has since been drooping over the sides which Im guessing is growth? If this is how it grows, does it then kind of inflate when it hits the plug and fill out underneath then continue to grow out? Just curious because it looks very thin and stretched out along the top edges of the original cut.

Thank you!

The growth should follow the contours of whatever it's attached to. If you want to level things out so to say, you could use some epoxy and kind of build a slope for the coral to grow on. Get rid of those hard angles. GL.

Got us. Thank you for the response! So I probably should have taken it off the plug, trimmed the bottom down, and then placed it. It's on a square plug so I thought it would have maybe made a little dome as it filled out.
