Jose, whatta guy gotta do to get a frag of that before it cost $100 a polyp?? ;)

and has Mr.Tyree laid eyes on that yet?

Mark,

That wasn't a certain someone who was trying to sell me & others a Baby's Breath Favia, was it? Well, you won't tell, but thanks for canning the liar!
BTW, your Favia... Purple Rain all through my brain.." Apologies to Jimi Hendrix.
Jose':
You know, you are a show-off. But with great things to show for it! Sweet as usual.

Matthew

jose when are you takn a vacation this year. i need to watch you tank and ummm keep and eye on it for you=).. i promise i wont frag it out to much=). youve got the Jose touch! screw midas

Beautiful piece Chris, but that's an Acanthastrea echinata. I don't think anyone will argue with the eye candy though. ;)

I'm curious what makes a coral a Favia vs. a Micromussa Minuta? I have a piece that has been called the Minuta, but others seem to think it's a favia ... how can you tell by looking at them? Here's the piece. It's also a shot of the edge where the coral is dripping down and splitting:

That's an acan.

That's a beautiful coral. What size are the polyps? Usually, to me anyway, the tiny polyps make it a micromussa while larger polyps are favia.

You are a funny one Marc! I would compare the polyps to the size of the Favia's ... ones like the Baby's Breathe or Sunburst. I know Richard had one that he was going between Favia and Minuta on, but mine has larger polyps than that piece.

hmm my two cents worth say is it a favite for sure due to the growth pattern and such i believe the munita's grow in much more in rows with spacing on heads., more consistant rows with spacing inbetween heads. but then again this is my 0.02 and our dollar is at our weekest point. so i could be completely wrong. i will post a pic later of the one that sara had discused

The War Coral is a sweet coral, one of my favorites, I'm always looking at it in my tank :)
