Sooja: Those are two pieces that absolutely BELONG on this thread. Some of the most colorful I've seen in recent weeks.
Psycho killer sweeet! LOL

Well, just changed lights to T5's. Wonder how this will effect my Favia? I hope color changes for the better, the old lights were 3 years old about 1.5 years due for a change.

Matthew, you probably should reduce the photo period or elevate the lights a few inches to avoid burning your corals. The intensity will be signficantly higher with brand new bubs of the three year old bulbs.

Thanks bud!

As soon as I saw the "Incredible" I had to chop a frag off.. the original colony was HUGE. My buddy and I took a 1/10 each of the main colony.

I saw some stunning favias while I was visiting Salt Lake City last week. As soon as I can get those edited, they'll be posted in this thread. I find myself looking for corals to photograph solely to post in this thread. Freakin' OCD!

Is that enough of a teaser? ;)

New one arriving on Tuesday. Nothing super special but I like the colors and it was pretty cheap. Red, green and a line of blue between the corallites.

Looks a little like a Montastrea to me, because of the contrasting patches of color. Well, very nice regardless of name.
Marc & Justin: Well, since the other household member was away from home this weekend, only the actinics alone were on yesterday afternoon. Longer than usual, but since I was working 2nd shift. BTW, these alone are nearly as bright as the old ones. Would they really burn my Favia? I'm not concerned with the Rhodactis/Discosoma weeds on top of the reef, but my hard corals are another matter!

I was going to try and get this too.

Have to post a pic when it comes in to see how close it is to what he had listed.

A frag of this is heading my way =) Sold as a chalice, but I say "Favia!"

You really need to consider purchasing a timer to turn lights on and off on a schedule to avoid such instances. If you had a PAR meter, you'd know for a fact instead of guesswork when it comes to this.

For now, run up to Walmart and get a timer or two. We can argue who's right, later. ;)

I work for freakin' Wal-mart! I certainly don't need to run there.. LOL
Actually, I had timers from Wally world during my tanks first year. It never worked, because all the timers had weird prong arrangements or never acurately kept time. I had them on the Reptile tanks for awhile, but they were a confounded nuisance. Do you know a good brand of timer?

Sincerely,
Matthew

So, the proud owners of Ridiculously-Expensive-Ebay-PPE-Icantbelievehereallysentonefreakenhead-Favia, let's see some updated pics!

Mine colored up nicely under low light, low flow but growth is incredibly slow.
