It's under 3 blue plus and 1 super actinic and 12 powerbrite LEDS. I'm guessing the led's are the reason, but they sure make LPS corals glow...

Dancing, the coral on the round frag plug is a platygyra, and the large polyp to the left of it is an oullophyllia benattae.

Wow, that is a really strange color pattern, odd geometry going on there..

I don't think it's Oulophyllia but I see what you mean about the geometry. Whatever it is it's REALLY nice and very unique compared to a lot of the others I've seen on this thread. Unique is better than bright IMO. I'd love to have a coral like that!

It is a neat piece. The tenticles really extend. I had to move it another inch so its not too close to my lords (acan will win in sting war).


Here's 2 more I picked up today. What species are these? they are they really tiny polyp ones

All 3 of those last ones posted look like favites pentagona to me.

Hmm, yeah I know. Actually, I believe that is typical Goniastrea you have. The deep corallites suggest it..
As for those new ones, pretty pickups those. Congrats!

thanks! the first one is different from the other 2. I know this much. The polyp sizes and shape are much different.

Is there an ID page for all the different favia's / favites? now that I have so many I should stop calling them all the same thing
