Now I want a WHOLE colony, not just 2 or 3 heads on a frag. God, that is one spectacular coral!!!!
Just remember your friends when said colony gets a little too big... <Wink> LOL

Mark, well, I know a few things I have cooking for you...at the moment I am losing acros quickly. paul took about 10 of my pieces to babysit until I figure out what is killing my acros...everything else is happy as can be. It's always something isn't it.

Steve, Oh yea, that 1 polyp will get going in no time. I have found this favia to be a good little grower :).

Matthew, I'll keep you in mind as the colony drip over the edges :D.

I need to take some pics of my favia's, but I know I can't compete with that.

Wow, great thread. I hope this isn't too much of a newbie question. I have a neon green favia that I have had for about 6 months. It gets good flow and light. I have target fed with mysis, cyclopese, and phytoplankton. It does seem to eat some. It looks healthy but I haven't seen the growth that I have seen in my other coral. I have some SPS, LPS, and softies.

Can any one tell me what seems to be best for their growth and well being? Or maybe point me to a thread on the care and feeding? Thanks.

jpa14: Nice one! Nice big, very beautiful colony!
slojmn: By all means! Eternally in your debt, in that case though! LOL

A new one? Nice, I'm sure it will live up to its full potential in a short while..

Thanks Matthew, it's starting to split in 3 of the eyes. I hope it grows fast in my tank they look nice in big size colony.

Yeah, just look at the top page here to see a full grown colony, or is it the previous page? No matter, its a fantastic pic of a truly beautiful & unique coral.

Alicia,

That is a spectacular BB Favia you have there. The colors are amazing. The BB Favia that I recently received from you - did it come from the amazing colony pictured above?

If so, I gotta do a water change to see the amazing colors in person!

Pnoy: Huh? you changing your name? Nevermind, that is a breathtaking Favia there. I love it more & more..

Sara, The weird thing about this favia is that it literally changes color on me day by day. Some days it is all blues/yellows/pinks/and greens like in these shots and then other days it is drabbed out with very little blue and pink. Ithink it really shifts depending on the water quality, at least that is my theory. Usually the day or two after a water change it is super awesome, popping colors like I can't believe, then goes drab on me for a while, then another water change and BAM, back to sick, popping colors. It is one of the strangest corals in my tank color wise. I keep it on the bottom of the tank with my chalices right out in the light.

I never understood why mine does that too. Looks awesome Alicia.

chalaco: Yoo go guy! LOL
All Delight: All my Favia, except one, have & continue to undergo color changes. Ranging from subtle to drastic. And then going back to the origional colors. Definitely tank factors in this, just wish I knew which ones!!
