favorite fish!

my favorite fish is my bellus angel because she eats out of my fingers and lets me "pet" her!! she comes up to the top of the water and turns on her side begging me to rub on her side! LOL i've had her for about 2 years!

she wants you to clean her. see if you can pick off some dead scales with your teeth.

My favorite is my Passer Angel :)
2nd favorite is my Flame Angel (variant on one side, normal on the other)
3rd is a tie with my Sargassum and Blue Throat Triggers

I think all of our fish are "faves" in one way or another, but notables are:

Rhinopias frondosa

Chorydactylus multibarbus

Dendrochirus barberi

And for a more "normal" fish...Holanthias borbonius

I could go on, but you get the idea...

My mimic file is the coolest fish I've ever had. Totally unafraid of people - when I pick up rocks and frag plugs to move them around, she's always there waiting for me to hold them upside down so she can pick off any bugs. She also tries to help me out by removing the parasitic freckles from my arm. :spin1:

The flamebacks are great too. I'm not even (too) mad that they're giving my zoa collection a hard time. The male is a fat little bugger, he looks like one of those mature, healthy, thick-bodied imperators, only scaled down to 3" long.

Back in the late-80's I purchased a marine fish book that had some colored photos in it. There were two fish in that book that I thought were simply gorgeous. I have yet to have either in a tank but will have both in my 300g that I am starting. Those fish are a Naso tang and a pearlscale butterfly. There are plenty of fish that are more $ and much rarer but these two fish made their first impression all those years ago and they are the reason I got into this hobby in the first place. :)

As far as fish I have actually cared for, my lavendar tang and sargassum trigger have been my favorites.

I have 3 tanks, so 1 from each.

300G - Sohal, when I found Reef Central on the internet after a 10 year break ( before internet), and I saw the logo, I just knew I had to have one.

100G - my Powder Brown, my white spot king who get sick every time I put him in the main 300G reef tank.

RSM 130 - my Yaha goby. Well actually only 2 fish in that tank, so an easy choice (other is a barber pole goby)

i love wrasses esp. flashers and faries....

c. earlei , c. pylei, c. naoko,c. bathipyus , p .cyaus, p. rubricaudalis, p. mccroskei, c. lineatus, c. labouti, to name a few

my fav is my 2" passer angelfish. he is always slipping underneath rocks and being able to squeeze himself into the smallest crevices. and then everyone in the tank ix 3x his size.

My two favorite in my tank are my Tailspot blenny (my avatar) and my Dragonface pipefish. Both are very active and interesting to watch. They are not as colorful as my other fish but I love the way they look.
