feather duster emergency

Does anyone know why my feather duster is coming out of his tube like 2 inches?? He looks completely healthy, plume and all yet appears to be moving out. The water parameters appear to be fine. Is this a death notice or is he looking for new digs? We've had him about a month or so now. Thanks

I'd say a near death....

That's what the one I had did, was hanging out, the crown came off not to long after and the next day it was dead...

I hate those things as cool looking as they are !

could just be unhappy where it's at, I had one do that and eventually pop out sometime during the evening and show up in another spot.
