feather duster lost it's head

Hi. About a week ago I got a new wave-maker powerhead which made the feather duster blow like long hair on a windy day. I thought it would like that since it is a filter feeder. I was wrong. Today I found it's head had blown off onto the sand. I planted the head by securing it in sand so it doesn't blow around and moved the worm casing rock to a low flow area. Does anyone know what I can expect now? Is the head alive? Is the worm hiding in its casing? If so how will it get any nutrients? Thanks in advance for any advice I receive.

I don’t think the crown will grow a new body, but if the worm is still alive in its tube it can grow a new crown. They will shed them for different reasons from time to time. I have had them recover and not recover. Leave the casing alone in the low flow area and wait is the best advice I can give.
