Feather DUster - lost its Tip

My feather dust spit out his feather. Is he dead, and should I remove his tube, or will he re-juvenate himself. If any1 has knows whats up please help. Thanks in advance.

Losing the feather crown is a sign of severe stress which might be caused by changes in the water, not enough food, harrassment by something else in your tank, etc. If it continues to be stressed it will eventually die. If the stress stops it can regrow the crown & resume feeding.
