Feather duster question

I recently purchased a feather duster and today while I was working on my tank the feather duster secreted this white stringy stuff. Is it feces? Is this normal behavior?

were you doing a water change? my small ones do that when I do water changes. you should be alraight

Sounds like vermetid secretion.

You can see it in Google Image Search. It could be hitchhiker on the worm's tube or rock.
