Yup, One of the Issues that needs attention In the club, Seems all things revolve around the Boro, More central locations need consideration on a fair division of area locations.
It's hard to always have to make such a long drive for the rest of us.

I think I made 3 meetings last year just bc they wheron a Sunday. I think the only ones
by me was at the lfs. And most was on a Saturdays witch was not able to make. But with more group meetings maybe be able to make it to more. Just my 2 cents

There are some ideas I ahve been kicking around on this, and the fact is that in order to make locations more central, we need more volunteers in areas that are convenient for all members. This may include having to pay for a meeting space in a restaurant, or working something out with a location. If the only people that volunteer their homes are in the boro, then it is not a problem with leadership. It is a problem with member participation. It's one of the reasons why leah and I hosted a meeting last year, and several folks from the boro did show up and support the club.

Topic of meeting also plays a part. If it is a fraggin demontration, or fragign party for swapping, then some palce with water and/or tank (facilities) to accomadate the function would be needed.

Now im not trying to figure out the world here just yet..have to be elected first. :D We have some funds in our coffers to perhaps help, but all expenses and such need to be reviewed before any rock solid plans can be made. Jsut spit balling here, and just discussing :-)

Very good point, Andy.

I think Bill volunteered to have it at his house... am I the only one who saw that?

:D

Actually I don't have a problem with that Brandon, My Wife who Is Sick and In a motorized wheelchair does and that Is the same Issue It has always been. Plus my house Is just way too small to properly hold a large meeting which this one will be. I also have made many trips to all other locations to attend meetings just like every body else.
This Is just one of many Issues that make It difficult for all to attend all meetings all the time. I don't recall meetings at many members houses or apts for some of the same reasons. I wasn't meaning to disparage the boro but bring to light a Issue that many feel needs addressing.
Andy, Don't you think elections to decide the face of the new board are neccessary, I talked to Mike today and he gave me the Impression that It's all been decided already.
And actually until all the members vote nothing Is for sure! And I'll make a suggestion here that we should have at least two choices for each position to be filled and have no elections until that has been achieved. Other wise what you have Is a crowning not an election.
Getting back to the subject matter a central location for all to only have to travel a short distance IMO would be Ideal, That was my Intended point. and divide locations as much as possible. Just my 2 cents

The issue with a small house is also what holds me up from volunteering for holding a meeting... The idea of holding it at restaurants doesnt sound bad at all I guess we would only need to inform the staff ahead of time for the space...

Once the weather gets nice we could even have it at a park and grill out while we're at it..

That Is a great Idea, Plus there Is a nice park In S H that has everything we need! I'm sure every town has them, Plus we have Wayne's BBQ sauce.
Bill

+1 on the park idea. There is no way I could host a meeting at my house for size reasons, but the new Greenway park entrance was just put in at the end of my road this summer. They have brand new pavilions with grills and a playground for the kids. Of course that is in Murfreesboro, but it is another option.

Bill, does this mean you are going to step up and do something? Or are you just stirring a pot with your conjecture from a conversation I was not a part of, and for that matter, no one else on this board besides you and Mike?

If you re-read my post, I clearly state I ws not tryng to fogure out the world and spitballing, and would ahve to be elected. Regardless of whom serves on the board my summation still stands and is very valid.

Someone already mentioned having more than one meeting a month. I think this is a idea worth pursuing. Possibly a monthly or every two to three month bigger all hands meeting to do club business and bigger presentations etc. Then have more frequent smaller meetings with some being more regionally based. I.e. The Boro, Franklin and Mount Juliet etc. Not saying those exact locations but you get the idea. All would be welcome at any meeting of course. These again would be more informal gatherings.

Something to talk about. That is the key to moving forward I believe, lets talk about these ideas. :)

Calm down Andy, There was no conjecture Intended or assumed! I was taken aback by the statement Quote Don't waste your time It's pretty much been decided already and was given a run down of new office holders! I'll go Into further details later as we are having PC problems and I've already made several long statements just to have them lost. I think we agree on most all Important Issues but we need to adress a valid election process first and foremost.

Maybe something like 2 monthly meetings and have a Quaterly all hands meeting to discuss every thing that has happened in the last quarter along with things to look forward to and maybe even end with a Q&A session so people can ask whatever is on their minds....

Ok Bill, thank you for clarifying. I am a little lsot on the "don;t waste your time" statement..but you can PM me and explain that or something...nothing has been decided as far as I know..merely a nomination process being executed.

I could host a meeting more towards Spring ESP if you all would want to grill out. It may be a 10.00 cover & RSVP but I'd smoke some barbcue & brisket for about 18hrs so it would be coming off the smoker at meeting time.
