Several of us have been thinking on this (as you and I have discussed this as well together). I think it is definately worth exploring as long as we can come up with a winning situation. Jsut have to take a look at the logistics, and start there to determine if it is viable. Having 4 meetings a month is a logistical nightmare for whomever is on the board as well as the members. It needs to be thought out thoroughly

Not only this but we dont want to have meetings to where all were doing is just sitting there looking at each other with nothing to say cause we're out of topics. I think 1-2 monthly with a quarterly meeting is enough.

Well I think if we have a monthly meeting at a persons house so we can also look at tanks talk and what not then if we have other get togther functions at other locations to do the social thing is good to and I think that would be the function of the new social director.

Well, it could be the bickering. But Im thinking its the cover charge.

The covercharge would only be to cover the food. I got a big boy smoker if you don't wanna eat then of course u wouldn't have to pay but can't really expect me to drop 125 / 150 on the meat & seasonings & wood chips & not recoup some of that? Plus I stay with the smoker the last 10 hours constantly turning or basting the food. This ain't no crappy Whitts BarBQ

Not to be mean or anything, but when I started back in 2005, for the first 3 years or so, Wayne and I traveled everywhere but Murfreesboro. This year it just happened that the people who wanted to host it lived in the Murfreesboro area. I guess we need some people in other areas to step and host a meeting.

Like I said just my two cents worth.

I will host one meeting as a social gathering when the weather is warm if there is interst in coming all the way out to Lewisburg. We can grill out, fish in the pond, bring your own lawnchair, drink some beer (BYOB), there isn't much else to do way out here but I'm willing.

If it is something everyone wants to do...I can see about stocking the pond. There are some big ones in there but they never come to me!! Eat what we catch...sure but you have to clean it.
