fedex!!!

Ugh, after a few heated phone calls they are in MA. Just not at my house... they got to the souring facility at 7:26, my question that nobody had been able to answer me is why they didn't make it on the last truck knowing the history of the package? So looks like they're sitting in bags another night. Hope everything is alive and survives. ..

Stay on them! Keep escalating your claim until you get someone on the phone that's high enough up the food chain and they won't want to deal with you. I've been able to get money out of Fedex every single time they've screwed up.

That is my biggest fear of ordering online. Please keep us posted on how it turns out, but I agree... I'd probably force feed the driver the dead ones... but I'm kinda short tempered:mad::mad::mad:

The weather want very good in indy lots of flooding maybe that's the reason for the delay ? Mistakes do happen but I still think fedex is the best

Finally got some truth out of one of the people I dealt with last night. It was human error, my fish "took a short trip" was how he put it. But the thing that drives me nuts is the fact they lied to me. Just tell me the truth, that you screwed, I won't be happy but I sure wouldn't have been as mad as being lied to. AND after all the calls AND knowing it contains live fish AND knowing that it was already 9 hours late for an overnight delivery, why would they not get that package sorted and out for delivery as soon as it arrived in Boston? Ugh, just very disappointed at FedEx

the local driver was the problem when this happened to me. i made the mistake of asking for saturday delivery, it never occurred to me that it wouldn't be my regular guy. the saturday driver left my package at a house miles down the country road. the guy who lived there didn't find it till he got home from work that day. it had sat on his porch out in the sun for 6 hours.

I've been told it's on the truck for delivery and should be to the house by 10:30... they've got 32 mins before I raise hell again.

Wow, finally! Sure hope they make it. I've haven't ordered fish online yet...yet. I do plan on it. I ordered 50 hermits years ago and they were all fine, but I'm sure there more hardy than fish

I was supposed to have a shipment from Vivid this morning containing a pair of percula clown fish, a purple firefish, a torch coral, a golden Leptastrea, and some more snails... Package was supposed to be delivered by 10:30 EST. No package yet, so I called FedEx and they informed me that because of a software problem my shipment is stuck in Indianapolis! ! These are live creatures, you can't just set them aside and say when they get there they get there... There is a reason people pay for overnight shipping! I just tore into them, told them that if they aren't delivered by the end of today I don't want them and they will be paying for an entire new shipment.

But to be honest, it goes beyond the cost of the shipment. These are live creatures and I can't stand to think they could be in there suffering/dying!

I'm really not sure what is gained by "tearing into" people who have zero control over the problem. Shipping delays happen. They are bad, they are no fun, but they happen.

are you just matching temp and salinity and putting them into qt or dt? not drip acclimating, right?

hope they all do well!

brian, it probably doesn't do any more than relieve the tension a little. i've been guilty of it even though i know it isn't usually the driver's fault. :o

Straight up honest they don't care. Their goal is to do what they can at their station and that's as much as they can do. In the end what happens to your shipment really doesn't impact their lives at all. So yelling at them and raising hell really doesn't do anything. Like going in to a Best Buy and yelling at the staff and going I'm never coming back here again. The only thought that is going through that person's mind in sweet I never have to deal with this [removed] customer again. You think your making that staff embarrassed or feel bad. Your really just filling them with home that you'll soon be gone never to return.

The reason I was "tearing into" them, is because they straight up lied to me 3 different times! And on top of that, they made no extra effort to get the package to me after they realized what had happened. Sometimes it helps to kill them with kindness, sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease... know what I mean?

In the real world stuff like this happens everyday. millions of packages are processed every day. and yes believe it or not some are lost, damaged, stolen, rerouted and anything else that can happen to a shipment every day.
that's the chance you take ordering live through the mail. you were not the first and certainly won't be the last. get over it.
