Feeder shrimp from where?

Ok, my time is up. I can no longer feed my frog fish junk. I need to order some good quality marine food. Probably some feeder shrimp. I am probably going to order them from somewhere I online as I don't really trust any LFS to have disease free stuff.

I was referred to seawaterexpress.com in another forum and told they were to quality shrimp. I like nice things for my animals, but I'm not spending $120 or more on feeder shrimp, so I may be back to livebrineshrimp.com. Would any one have any other suggestions? Would anyone like/need to get in on an order? What ever I get I hope to find a way to culture it just for the experience mostly, but to save on costs in the long run and disease control as well.

That place, livebrineshrimpdirect, is a place i posted on the veggie forum for live plants. sounds pretty good, but i never ordered from them. you should call them first to find out the size of the shrimp. they list both their marine and ghost shrimp as SEAHORSE food. which would mean they are pretty small. You might have to grow and fatten them up a bit in their own tank.
which I know you can do. just need room for one more tank Jon...

greenbank aquarium for live ghost shrimp, ive know billy for over 15 yrs and never had a problem with anything from his store

pmvalenti ghost shrimp, though a common name used for several species, are usually fresh water and have little to no nutritional value for my marine predator. That fish place I believe also has ghost shrimp, but they are fresh water as well.

CASHCRZZY any idea what type of shrimp Bill has?

I contacted seawaterexpress.com and they told me there shrimp are next to impossible for me to culture. They said it took them years to perfect it and cost them a million dollars to get it right.

I don't know what type or species they are,I do know that they are without a doubt salt water shrimp ! And the fish that eat them love them

A million $, Come on, Thats probably there entire operation including tanks and shipping setup. The University doesn't have a setup in Lewis you could copy? With all the marine geeks (no offense) at the University, they should be able to put a cost effective system together for you. Lay down a challange to them over the summer.

They'll have to sell a crap-load of shrimp to make up $1,000,000.00 ...

OR YOU COULD JUST GO DOWN NEAR THE BEACH AND SCOOP UP 5 GALLON BUCKET FULL OF THEM THATS WHAT BILLY DOES ANYWAYS Y PAY FOR IT WHEN HE DON'T & THEN CHARGES YOU

That’s why I wanted to order online from someone I know that cultures them. Shore shrimp are impossible not to catch when you are down there. They are a cold water species and I don't know how they would fair in a tank above 80* F. A long time ago before I got really into this stuff I kept a couple in my tank, I am not sure if it was the temperature that did them in or my French Angel. The waters are so polluted down there as well and with bio accumulation who knows what your bringing in your tank. Shore shrimp are also from a different part of the world with different disease from the tropical shrimp I am going to try to culture.
