feeder shrimp?

I will aculally be breeding these for my mantis as you can just pop a few in a week and the mantis can just hunt them down like in nature. With a few crabs/snails mixed in

I was considering these also..

Giga, what is your breeding set-up going to be? I was considering doing it in my display's refugium, but I'm not sure yet..

They sell something like those as bait shrimp around here. $3/dozen, some of them are almost 6" long. Just bought a half dozen of the smallest ones for my mantis early this week. Then he decided it was a good time to molt :( .

Don't tell the Mrs I have a five gallon bucket with shrimp in it in the guest room, she hasn't discovered it yet ;)

I'll report back when my mantis is back in action.

They are rather good because they are not fresh water like ghost shrimp so they are have more nutrients. They will be breeding in a 55 gallon sump that has a section just for them. I just throw a crab and snails in for the more rounded diet. I can get the for about 30$ for 100 micro. Even if they get big I just cut them up and feed to the mantis and my fish. I really never have to go shopping for food. This is the link to my set up as the second tank is the mantis tank and the sump is where I will breed them. They are ok for breeding but 100 last so long that even if I use them all I simply get more

we had tried some in with Petey, it was funny to watch he didn't bother with them one crawled over him and he actually ran the other way but he did end up eating them, it took him a while.

My N wennerae apparently prefers his shrimp cleaned and deveined. He finally caught and killed the shrimp but didn;t eat it.

Good thing the flower anemone enjoys a meal of fresh shrimp.
