Feeding Algae Eating Blennies

I have had a Black Sailfin Blenny for a couple of months. I knew when I bought the fish he was an algae eater and I have some green hair algae.

The fish came in and completely cleaned of specific rocks and others he won't touch. Maybe to do with the length or specific type of algae.

He definately won't try Formula 2 or Seaweed salad. Has anyone else found a food that these blennies will eat? I've heard they are similar to lawnmowers so maybe any relevant experience with those would help as well.

I appreciate your help. I see him constantly combing in areas where there is nothing so I'm afraid he'll end up malnourished.

Thanks
Bobby

They are similar by appearance and diet only. They are an entirely different genus of blenny. They can see quite minute algae, so I wouldn't worry if it doesn't look like there is anything there to you. What you should focus on is whether or not it is retaining weight (or getting skinny). Also try cropping the algae a bit as they do prefer shorter filaments. Might also want to try attaching some nori tightly to a rock (or even growing some algae on a rock to feed it). Most of the time, they eventually take some prepared foods, but most prefer grazing (some won't take prepared foods).
