Feeding anemones. Is shriveling up normal?

Just got a small rose anemone earlier this weekend. It stuck down nicely where I put it in the tank and was looking great. So I decided to feed it a small piece of shrimp. It then shriveled up and has gotten much smaller. The piece of shrimp looks to still be close to the mouth. Is it just eating? Or is something wrong?

If you just got it this wkend, the anemone is acclimating to your tank. This can take a week or more depending on the condition of the anemone and how disparate your tank conditions are compared to the tank it came out of.

Hopefully it will look better soon. This is what it looked like when I first got it and put it in my tank:

I thought it had attached to the bottom of the tank and I decided to feed it a small piece of raw shrimp. Now this is what it looks like since last night. When it's acclimating, shouldn't it look worse immediately? Or is it common for an anemone to look fine and then look bleak as it acclimates?

My anenome looked the way yours does in that second picture, after having it for a few days. It looked good at first, looked deflated, moved around a bit, and now it is doing phenomenal!

I feed my entire tank Rod's. He seems to have something in there for everyone. (Takes the guess work out for me.) Usually, there is one good chunk after I defrost the piece of Rod's that I am going to feed. I try to make sure the anenome gets that piece. Sometimes my sailfin will try and get it, but I try to make sure I feed him on the other side of the tank, as I am feeding the anenome and the clowns. (He's a major pig!)

Glad to hear that your anemone recovered. Sadly, I don't know where my anemone went. I think he melted away and died. I'm holding out hope that he just moved somewhere I can't see him and will recover. But my tank is pretty small and I think I've pretty much looked everywhere. Trying to decide if I want to try another one or not...
