feeding Aussie Duncans

Do Aussie Duncans have to be spot fed, or, do they get sufficient energy from the appropriate light sources and water quality? Can they survive without being spot-fed?

If they do need to be directly fed, what do you recommend and how often?

Thank you!

Yes they will do fine with just proper lighting. I am sure they will grow faster by target feeding but I find that i start to have algae issues from trying to feed all my corals.

i target feed mine time to time only.they do grow faster the problem is that is to easy for the fish to take the food out of the mouth that sometimes they will pick at the coral to see if it's any food on the coral.

^my cleaner shrimp will do that crap, I have to guard my Duncan's with a piece of 1/4 tubing till the Duncan's have fully consumed the food. Little bastard shrimp.

I don't have a duncan but I feed my LPS 2 times a week and since I have started, they have all grown really well. Spot feeding the corals, keeping my bulbs changed (t5's), proper water changes.. they will grow like crazy.

Thet will grow mre eads 3x as fast when you feed them. The colony I had before this one went from 3 heads to 21 heads in less than a year by feeding them once a week.

Exactly. Also, I feel like they stay healthier. They extend more and the colors are more vibrant.
