Feeding fresh clam from the market

Hello guys,

For those of you who feed fresh clam bought from the market, is there any worries introducing diseases and parasites to your tank? I've tried to freeze them for 48 hours but it feels like the fish are not as interested after I freeze them.

Like to hear from the experienced.

IME, I have never put the fresh clam into my DT. I have always used them in my TTM or QTs to get a fish started eating. Only ones I have use in the DT is the clams on the half shell. To answer your question, I am not worried about diseases, as it is not in my DT and I can treat in my QT very easily if one did come in.

Also if that was the case, I would be worried for my own health also, as I eat them too. LOL!

I feed live clams from the store all the time it's perfectly safe
