Feeding Leopard Wrasses

Feeding leopard wrasses is perceived as difficult as a large amount of their intake is copepods. However, I can assure you that they love capelin fish roe and the go nuts for live blackworms. Just an FYI.

I have a meleagris leopard wrasse that eats like a pig, basically everything including NLS pellets.

They are not good shippers, but IME... if eating in a LFS then the specimen is fairly hardy.

I want to get one but I am afraid it would decimate my pod population because I have a mandarin. Now there is hope :)

I agree with Reef Doug, mine is a pig for any food that hits the water, I think 99% of the leopards you see for sale are already too far gone to help, but if you start with a healthy specimen, they are fairly hardy.

I don't agree with this quote though, even though mine eats anything that hits the water, it still picks at pods all day long, I'd fear it would outcompete the mandarin in no time, unless the mandarin is eating prepared foods also.

Hey Steve, where one one get either product? I'm in suburban ATL and no LFS has either, lol.............seriously, though, I have no clue.

I brought a potters leopard back from close to death from shipping and I would say a tank full of pods is needed but once settled in not so picky. mine especially loves pe mysis.

good info here :) i may consider going for the Tonga leopard wrasse since that the one i really wanted. any chance they'd get picked on by other species?
