what's the best food for a neon goby? so far i have tried mysis wich he only nibbles and i trieed to entice him with bloodworms(those usually get picky fish) but he ignored them.
what istheir favorite food you suggest?

You could try some live food like baby brine shrimp or live worms to entice him to eat then wean him onto other foods.

Most neons are tank bred - try flakes or very small / finely crushed pellets?

Mine eats anything he can fit in his mouth, including some fairly large frozen stuffs.

hm, ok. I'll have to try that. I got him to eat some mysis today! I think the problem is that I turn the flow off at feeding time. The food will float right in front of him and he ignores it, but when I turned on the filter after, all the leftover food started eating it and he went crazy eating it all up. I don't know why that is...

It's weird that they don't like motionless food, they need the chase, it's like a game to them. Probably has something to do with that they like live food instead of frozen food and when it's in the current it atleast looks alive to them

now, which of these is healthiest? Brine shrimp is like popcorn for fish...they love it but it really has little nutritional value...

Which is why you should enrich them...they're like wonderful little empty vitamin capsules for this such as: Beta glucan, spirulina, finely divided flake foods, brewer's yeast, etc.

You might try mini mysis (H2O Life or Hikari), also try Nutramar Ova or frozen (not freeze-dried) Cyclopeeze. They have small mouths, and are small fish, and may be intimidated by larger foods they don't recognize as food yet.
