feeding question "table scraps"

So my wife made sushi tonight and had some left over tuna. She gave me some small pieces and said feed them to the nem. Before I do this does anyone know if this will be ok? It is sushi grade which is suppose to be the freshest fish you can get, but I wanna be sure before I do it.

Well I did it....he seemed to gobble it up without hesitation.
Even faster than the mysis or silversides I feed him. I cant say I'll make a habit of this, but if he looks good tomorrow I might keep this in the rotation for feeding.

I don't see why it would hurt...it's fresh, it's not treated in anything...it's never even been frozen...seems like a perfect treat to me...but i'm no invert nutrition expert.

Well I'm happy to report that after a couple of days no immediate affects, if anything his color seems to be a little brighter....Thats withouf wasabi btw.

If it is Sashimi grade fish then it should be ok in my opinion. But I have read somewhere if it is just ordinary fish not sushi grade then it should be frozen for a week. I have tried it with octopus legs and my BTA gobbled it up in seconds.

I once threw a little of the seaweed wrap from sushi into my tank and the perc and cleaner gobbled it up

i fed mine alaskin king crab yesterday. VERY exciting and responsive. they love the expensive meals let me tell you.
PS they also like lobster, and swordfish and grouper (basicly anything from the sea that i dont eat off my dinner plate)

I read on here a while ago where someone had fed thier moorish idol bananas. Well.....I was having a banana last week and walked by my tank and thought what the heck...its natural, its fruit. So I pinched a piece and dropped it in. HOly COW! My clowns, the foxface,tangs and royal gramma devoured it! I fed them several pieces and they almost fought each other trying to get it. I now have added the banana into my feeding routine. It is their favorite food by far.

Hmm, never tried the banana.... sounds worth a try. I suppose feeding game fish flesh would be ok, so long as you know it wasn't collected in an area known for enhanced mercury levels (like here ). I have noted very negative reactions in my anemone when feeding local seafood. It seems to worsen when fed over time.

I know it's weird.....bananas of all things! I couldn't believe the feeding frenzy when I dropped that banana in....I figured I would have to fish it out....I thought the tangs and the foxface, but the clowns, will grab it and dart away eating as fast as they can.

Bad idea, IMHO. Too much heavy metals.

Bananas are not right as well. Don't feed your saltwater crittes anything that they do not get in the wild.

a monkey walks up a tree. jumps on a bunch of banana's, and one of them falls. a storm rolls in and the banana is carried to the ocean from rainwater. the banana drifts accross the ocean to decay on a reef. but before it decays everyone enjoys their banana feast.... jk..
ya swordfish i stay away from, i mostly feed mine crustaceans and reef fish.
