feeding raw shrimp to anemone question

So I've been feeding my gig pieces of shrimp. And today it looks AWEFUL. I'm worried its going to die. I've had it for over a year and it had a nice price tag on it.

How many pieces?
IME, they don't need much. I don't why people are so obsessed with feeding their nem daily. They only need a piece once in awhile. The more you feed, the higher chance of food contamination that the nem is getting. Not to mention, the size it can grow to.
A healthy anemone is one thing but you don't want to overfeed it either.

I was feeding it a shrimp every 3 days

it was responding very well and coloring up nicely, hopefully it looks better when I get home. If there was too much food, I would just expect it to throw it up...it at my 8" brittle starfish and did this. The shrimp smelled fine, I kept it frozen.

Giganteas can grow from the size of a penny to 18" in two years with no supplemental feeding...

If you decide to feed, small pieces are always much better than large ones. By small I mean not exceeding the size of a pencil eraser. No need to feed entire shrimp, entire fish, etc. Think about it in terms of the waste you are adding to your system...

i came home to half of the anemone falling apart and breaking up in the water, I had to flush it before it ruined my tank. Tis a sad afternoon
