Feeding Seahorse

I have a WC H. reidi that eats only live mysis. My question is "How much should I feed her?" She is only about 4 inches long. Right now I have been giving her 4 to 5 mysis three times a day. She also has access to copepods.

Any guidance will be appreciated.

Well i take care of Seahorses at the Mote Marine laboratory in florida and we have a huge seccessfull breeding program and we feed all our seahorses live brine 2 time a day and we feed frozen cyclopeez, and mysis.

brine shrimp should NOT be a main part of their diet. There isn't any nutrition in brine shrimp for them. As a treat it is fine, but the diet should be mysis. As for how much........as much as she will eat at a time. If there are always leftovers, feed less. If she eats all of them right away, it may not be enough. Let her decide when she's had enough.

Are you feeding adults live brine twice daily, or juivies that you have raised.

I would offer her as much as she will eat. She will likely surprise you with how much she eats. I often find that many hobbyist mistakening under feed their horses. In the wild, they will graze throughout day.
