Feeding softies

I kept zoas and some softies including a sinularia, toadstool and others in a tank with no fish and no feeding for over a year. The zoas didn't really grow but my leathers took off, the sinularia grew almost out of the tank.

Maybe there were nutrients in your fresh water for changes and reinstatement of evaporated water...¿?:rolleye1:

More likely nutrient saturated rock and possibly sandbed.

I once cycled a tank with miracle grow and it turned out ok, eventually... I wouldn't do it again though.

You can also use a food processor to make up your own fish food. I freeze it, cut off a small cube and shake it up in a water bottle(specifically for the tank), shut off the pumps and pour it in.

It basically gives you different sizes of particles in the water column.

Also it is possible... In my system, the live rock has an extraordinary quality -I think- and the no3 and po4 levels go dramatically down in few days. And in addition, is a bare bottom.
So I need to add something :rolleye1:

Thank u for posting!:D

Thank you for de idea and... sounds well this of different sizes of particles but... what´s a food processor exactly?:crazy1:
I think that I don´t have one of those at home... :D

A food processor is a small contraption that dices up food- think of it as a mini-blender.

If I'm not mistaken, one of our local reefers started dosing that Seachem Aquavitro with excellent results.

hmmm... I believe that already I know to what device you refer...;)...

I´ll try to read more experiences with that "Fuel"

Thanks for your posts! they are very useful ;)...

Thank you for stopping in! I always love helping reefers from across the pond. ;)

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. :)
