feeding trough?

I was thinking about making a trough for my horses but was wondering if it would suit my tank or not. Tank is a standard 120g (4x2x2)

Would the seahorses find the trough easily or would they need to be trained to it?

They'd need to be trained to it, but training is pretty easy. As soon as they figure out that the turkey baster = food, they will follow the turkey baster anywhere; and then it only takes a few days of leading them to the dish before you start finding them dancing at the dish when you wake up in the morning.

Especially in such a large tank it would be better to train them to eat out of a feeding bowl/trough. That way you can make sure they are getting enough to eat and they are not wasting to much energy swimming after the food. If you have other fish in there too that might out compete your horses for food- that is another good reason.

You can always remove an extra food after a feeding session and that only helps to keep your water quality even higher.

It took a couple of weeks for my horses to really get the hang of it consistently- but it was worth the effort and I am not having to feed so much now.
