Female bellus colouration

Having looked at liveaquaria and a few other pics on google, does the red marking on female bellus develop with age or are they a regional variation. I've had my female for a few years and its still small and has a faint red coming through on the dorsal but that could very much be me seeing something that's not there. I'm ashamed to say I don't have an up to date pic and the only one I could find was from well over a year ago. Its very similar but is will colours develop as it matures?

TIA

I have had my female Bellus for 6 years this coming March. She is big and fat and doesn't have any trace of red on her. Must be regional or maybe just individual variations. They are great fish.

Thanks, I found an old thread elsewhere where the chap was told Indonesian specimens have the red on their dorsal and anal fins.
My friend got one the other day which doesn't have any additional colour on the dorsal but the anal fin has a really nice almost sunset band through it.

Mine had a lot of red, but then turned into a male. BOO!!! I have a pair of watanabei in the tank and I guess that she (now he) liked the watanabei female enough to change.
