Saw my mini max munching on a dead clownfish yesterday evening, only to have it release sperm about 2 hours later just before lights out. Pretty sure the clown was already dead and just drifted into the mini max, but still quite a day for an anemone, dinner and some fun on the side

Do you have males in the tank, and if so, did they spawn as well?

I'm not sure that there are different sexes. I know 100% for sure that 2 of my maxi's sent out both sperm and a few days later - eggs!

Thanks! I suppose they could be both sexes, but this particular anemone I've only seen release eggs. I have other ones in the tank that release sperm. They release concurrently about 50% of the time, but so far, no viable fertilization in the tank. I most likely would have to take some out at the time of spawning and try to raise them that way so they don't get eaten and sucked into the filter. Maybe...

wow that is really cool. I have two and haven't seen anything like that.... but this is coming from the guy that has a 2.5 year old giant GBTA that has never split and clowns that don't lay eggs. haha
