Ok, looking for some help. I just purchased a pair of Wild Caught Onyx Clowns. The male is doing awesome, eating everythign in sight. The female is exact opposite, I have tried feeding her frozen mysis, frozen brine, flake, and table shrimp, and the only thing she would touch was a little bit of table shrimp. This is the second day I have had them.

Any suggestions??

Also, she appears to have 2 little red spots underneath her chin, and the male does not. Any idea what those might be?

Thanks for your help!

I'd give them a bit more time to settle in. Sometimes with the changes and stuff they don't eat for a few days.

You're QTing, I hope?

They are from a very reputable LFS, so I would bet money they are.

Going to get some Live Brine Tommorow.

Are you seeing any other symptoms in the clown? Swimming up and down, laying on the sand, heavy breeding. Also, watch for white stringy poo, most of the wc perc's i have seen come in w/internal parasites.
repeating what orionN said, get some live brine and see if you can eat. That is the biggest concern here, if there are other things wrong food is the first thing that needs to happen.

Tried soaking some mysis in garlic, and cyclopeeze, need to wait for the LFS to open to get some live brine.

On a side note, she does go after frozen mysis, sucks it in, but spits it back out.

Could be that the mysis is just a little bit too big for her yet...does she bite and spit multiple times, or just spit it out once and leave it alone?

It's for sure a good sign that she's going after some food.

Your going to want to get her eating first of all, then as long as they are in quarintine you need to treat with pipzine(sp). It has worked flawlessly for me at removing internal parasites....
Considering she attempted to eat frozen mysis, i would say there is a good chance she will eat the brine shrimp, let us know how she does.

My pair of clowns are sick as well, and the female has just started eating cyclopeeze. She didn't eat for a few days, but has started up again.

Do as advised above, but whatever you do, don't give up on feeding. I feed 3 or 4 small feedings every day to give them plenty of opportunity. You won't have to do water changes any more often if you keep the feedings small and siphon uneaten food.

Ok, she went back to the LFS today for medical treatment :) They have everything you could imagine, and since I just bought her they were willing to take care of it all. Will update in a few days.

It's really cool that you've got an LFS willing to help you out with that stuff.

Best of luck!

My LFS was like "Oops...no guarantee...you're on your own."

lol, our LFS in the area are awesome! Well an update from this afternoon, the fish has gone through several medicated dips, and ate some cyclopeeze and some mysis with parasite medication today.
