Feminus Wrasse on LA's DD Tonight?

Dang that is a sweet fish! I heard they used to come in many years ago and sold for $300. I guess this fish is even more rare than before huh? :D

It is not that is so very rare, but they are very difficult fish and LADD has acclimated it. Very difficult collection and shipping.

well i tried to purhchase her but someone was quicker ! when the girl was punching in the last digit to ordrer it sold and that was it ,all over . less than 7 minutes and poof , i wish i was quicker and i did hesitate for about one minute lke a fool . i did have to check it out with my wife and that was the end as she did say yes but the trigger was pulled to slow .................................... oops !

So, who did end up getting it? I hope we see some pictures!

Dave, sorry to hear it didn't work out. Maybe next time.

its really for the better as I'm not really prepared for such an endeavor but i was game at the time . in hindsight its best that someone else got her but it was a great opportunity as she was there for a month and eating frozen foods which is a great start . they are delicate and as DD stated she was the healthiest that the ever had . i do really want one and will have my lfs search out such a fish when I'm prepared with my monster tank and everything is ready but the choati leopards are probably a better avenue to pursue because they are much less expensive . if i can get them going i probably would start my search for such a fish at that point . as i stated before i tried but really wasn't prepared and would hate to have to do what would have been necessary if i did purchase her .certainly i would have done everything in my power to accommodate her but it would have been at the cost of mixing many wrasses that could have become a major problem . many of the wrasses that i have collected have taken me many years to acquire and it would have been very difficult to figure out all the necessary housing for some of my prized possessions .

Dang, missed it. :mad2:

My tank is not quite ready for one, but it's close.

I haven't seen them have a pair of Rhomboids on there in the past couple months,
but maybe I missed that too.

Well at least I get to go to a presentation with Julian Sprung today.
Now if I can just forget about this fish.

Unless he talks about this fish!!:p

Heres is the thing with this fish. While wrasses arent my thing, I find this fish amazing, as it was sold. Make no mistake, it wouldve sold easily for $2000. As mentioned, in the prepared and healthy condition it was in, that was a steal. And, try to find it elsewwhere period (not even in that conditioned state). You cant. Kudos to KK at LADD.

+1 with the above. I was sorely tempted. KK says that he has one in his personal tank along with a harem of M. Choati. But I would have had to introduce it to my similar tank with my leopards because a QT would have been totally infeasible. Still, if it were there, I would get one.

Me Too!
Actuallly, I wasn't around the computer all day and wasn't even aware of one going on sale untill it was too late. Oh well maybe next time.

I tried, too! I was back and forth cleaning my pumps, doh! Too late! I would have sold 3 out of 4 wrasses & my red dragonet to keep it.

i have a question im gettin in 2 males next week but have not seen any photos of a male and was wondering what they look like... also any input on there care would be great
thanks
