Few Items For Sale or Trade If You Are Interested

Hey guys,

Just thought I would post this up here if anyone needs anything... A few non-reef related items as well.

I've got the following for sale or trade:

RENA XP2 Canister Filter - Works great as a sump. Although it doesn't have the light, it really worked great on my 29 gallon reef. If you leave it alone, lots of cool creatures grow it in. It's a pod warehouse.

CSS65 - I bought this just the other day. I let a good friend of mine borrow the pump to mix salt, so it's just the skimmer and diffuser themselves. Great skimmer. I installed it and let it run for about 5 minutes and then decided I would rather put it in a sump than HOB.

Breeding Pair of Fischer's Lovebirds - $100. Egg Laying Surgically Sexed pair of parrots. I'll be taking them to a fair next week, but they are available for the moment. ;) (I'll even throw in the 30x18 cage and breeding box!)

I'm open to anything.

I could use an acrylic sump, plumbing parts, live rock / base rock, some live stock, return pumps, powerheads, etc. Just about anything, haha!

If anyone is interested, let me know. :D

Wow cool stuff, especially the bird! If I had a place for them, they would be cool to have.

Good luck!

The parrots are a lot of fun. I've got another one that's really tame. I haven't clipped his wings in awhile, so he's having too much fun flying ALL over the house. I think he thinks it's a game, haha!

You could probably put them in a smaller cage. They spend 90% of the day in their nextbox. They only come out to eat and drink, so they do need as much room as a non-breeder parrot. I've got a 24x18 cage... or maybe it's 24x16... probably 24x16 that I could change the other cage out for.

Great fun though. even the small parrots like the ones I have... max 6" total length from tip of tail to tip of beak. Pygmy parrots.

Plus, you don't have to worry about dismemberment if they decide they don't like you.

I've really worked with the breeder pair, and the female comes out in the morning and stands at the food bowl and waits for me to fill it up. Then she'll watch me fill it up and she'll stick her beak through the bars waiting for me to bring the bowl back.

Sweet birds. Just have a baby on the way and three birds, 2 reef tanks and a baby are a bit overwhelming. So we'll cut it down to 1 bird and 2 reef tanks and a baby :D.

I made the boxes out of luan. It's got two rooms. Two bedroom apartment, haha!

Drill a hole + add birds = babies.

Brilliant!

EDIT - I take that back. Parrots breed in boxes. Finches breed in nests. :D

If you we're in california, maybe. ;)

I don't think there are any wild parrot populations around here. In California, a few people let loose some rose breasted cockatoos, and now they've formed a huge population out there. At least I think that's the species of bird.

Crazy.

Worth a shot, haha! You never know. A good friend of mine breeds birds... she's probably got over 100 now. She says that wild parrots show up at her house all the time. I guess they are attracted to all the other parrots. She finds them all the time. :)

LOL. Let me know what you find out!

If you build it... they will come. Who knows. You might have a squirrel living in there. Maybe a raccoon.

lol I was joking... My luck I'd have a damn cat in there...

I know, just playing along. ;)

No telling WHAT you'd find in there. I'd be afraid to find out. :D
