Few Questions About Anemones

I want a anemone for my clown and because the relationship of a pair is cool. I know they are pretty difficult to keep or so I've heard. What do I need to know before purchasing one? I've been also doing a little research.

Your tank should be a stablished for at least 5 months. That's when I got mine. Must have very good lighting. Water quality must be good. Remember that not all clownfish will host anemones and that each anemone is different. The best starter anemone is probably a bubble tip which is my opinion.

I have 3 bubble tips now...make sure it's sticking to something at the store - I received one in the mail and the foot wasn't sticky - it took a few days before it was sticking to some rubble I put down in a container. With that being said, I'd get one from an actual store rather than online - my 2 store-bought ones stuck right where I put them - they haven't moved since, thank goodness!

Figure out a good spot for it - one has his foot right in a hole so deep it retracts completely sometimes, and the other two are slightly under a ledge with some crevices for their foot to dig into - they can still stretch out for light if they want.

When my clown finally discovered one of them, I was so excited :) now, she found the second one and bounces back and forth between the two - definitely an awesome interaction - I love watching them.

Awesome thanks for response. Ok. I want one that has long tentacles or long enough for my clown to get in. And i also dont want it to get to big. What is a anemone close to that description?

If this is your 1st nem then I would go wth BTA's, fairly undemanding and the come in lots of colors:) And if it get to big, you can always frag him.

My RBTAs put up with a ton of neglect during my dissertation and prior. I moved them over to my new 90 gallon tank after it had been set up about 6 weeks and they're doing great in that as well. I think they're pretty much awesome.
