Few shots of my fishes

Took my pair of Emperors to the store today. They were getting too big and aggressive. My Moorish Idol has been suffering and I think it is due to the Emps. Sad day, I liked them very much.

Thanks. They have been transformed for about 3-ish years now. I guess I have had them maybe 4 years.

Notice that one has a streamer on its dorsal fin while the other does not. I believe that means they originated from different parts of the world.
They both look like they come from the same region (I think Pacific). To my knowledge only the males develop streamers.

whoa, they got big, sorry to see them go.

Pacific Ocean has a filament on the dorsal and has a yellow tail

Red Sea and Indian Ocean does not have a filament and has an orange tail

Yes, Emperors have a blue/yellow Pacific form (subspecies) and an orange/blue Indian Ocean form, just like Regal Angels.

Not quite sure where they came from, but clearly two different places. The female had the streamer. I already miss them, but the Idol is looking better already so I know I made the right decision. I had them about 4 1/2 years.

Just out of curiosity can an emperor that has hlle hole in the nose area recover? My emp has hlle wanted to see what I can do to help it recover.

I am not sure. I have heard accounts of them improving and others of them not. Mine never improved, but did stop getting worse.

Yes - one had a spot on its head and some dorsal fin damage, the other had dorsal fin damage. I no longer have them though. The above pictures are the fish I received as replacements for the two emperors.
