The fish still doing ok?
The fish still doing ok?
Here's a closer picture of the zoa frag I got today
I lost one of the anthias and honestly, I have absolutely no idea why. Just a couple hours after the acclimation, it was eating everything except pellets. The aggression from the coral beauty had subsided. The next day (yesterday), I noticed it wasn't eating anything so I still fed the tank 4x ..flakes, baby brine shirmp, mysis and then this morning I found it dead on the sand bed.
The other two are still eating like crazy and honestly have an amazing personality. Every time I get close to the tank, instead of going into hiding they swim right up to the glass and just fool around. I'm really hoping these two will make it.
I'm going to get a bigger variety of food tomorrow, ie. cyclopeeze, spirulina, etc.
Are you sure that's zoas? It looks like a red goniopora.
That is a red goniopora my friend. I am sorry for your loss. I lost a yellow corsis wrass last week.
Sorry to hear Hamiltonguy, on another note I picked up 3 Carberryi Anthias from SUM on Saturday as well (the line up and number system were insane huh?) All three are in the QT tank and appear to be doing fine so far.
I'm sorry to hear you lost that fish. I'm rooting for the others!
Hahah yeah man, luckily I was the third one in line so I got what I needed pretty early on. I think stress got it. It was at least 0.5-0.75" smaller than the other fish and the added stress of being in a bag for 2 hours because I got stuck in traffic on my way home to Hamilton plus the stress of the acclimation did it in. I'm definitely going to plan out my travel better next time. What did you end up getting there besides the carberryi anthias?
Picked up some food and Mg. test kit. I was lucky number 60 :thumbdown
Yea it actually is a red goniopora, I'm not very coral savvy, I just really liked the color so I picked it up.
Well my friend, I will advise you not to do this anymore. Because an uninformed decision like this could not only cost you a lot of money, but you are putting at risk the rest of your livestock.
Save yourself from a big problem. If you don't know what your are buying, take a picture, ID, research and then buy.
Oh man #60, most of the livestock must have been gone by then but hey can't beat those prices.
They still had carberryi anthias left huh? The only reason I got there at 9:30am was so they weren't gone later in the day.
How are your anthias doing so far?
How are things going? Eager to hear!
wow, nice corals
