Anyone ever owned one? I ordered one from a wholesaler just to see what it looked like and looks a lot like a knox but a lot more blue would post pic but have him in qt right now and he is camera shy.I would say coral beauty/knox cross best to describe it.No orange on body just hint of striations.

We are waiting for pictures!!!! Never seen one or even heard of one.
Have him in qt in a 30 gallon with a bunch of live rock since I was not sure if they were hardy feed some live brine earlier it came out and ate a little then darted back into the rocks soon as a can get a good pic I will. There is one online if you google fiji blue velvet damsel mine is not quite that blue he is darker dark blue highlites. It is picking at the rocks will keep him there for a couple weeks a little on the skinny side then I will move him to my 40 gallon bare tank qt and prazi and hypo for 3 weeks

Didn't Toddrtrex have one?

Yes I do. Have had it for 11 months now.

Similar to any other dwarf, in that they can be secretive at first, but fairly bold once settled. Do best in a tank with lots of mature live rock -- to graze upon. Mine will eat what ever I put in the tank, and loves to eat zoas.

Here it is eating some Spectrum pellets.

And back when I had it with a Flame pair -- lost the small flame when I moved.

Toddrtex I really like yours great colors mine hides when I come up to the tank so he looks more like a blur right now. Thanks for the info.

Sure thing, and congrats.

Give it time, and it will be out all the time. Mine is always cruising around, going in and out of the rock work, picking at the rocks all the time.

Guys, this species is not "officially" named yet, so the name Centropyge deborae shouldn't be used (yet). I do have some inside info that the official scientific description will come out soon. I will post a link when it does.

Was it hard to acquire Todd?

Yes and no. ;)

I received it from Diver's Den, so I had to be quick on the refresh that day, but otherwise was easy.

And if memory serves they had another one the follow day (( or the day after that )).

This is how it spent its first 5 days.

I wanted 5 and only got one my wholesaler told me that was all they received and the prior shipment they got 2 but was sold right away, for the rarity the price was not bad at all imo
