Filefish and copper

Anyone have experience treating filefish with copper? I have a pair coming in and happen to have copper in my QT right now. Trying to determine if they can go in there or if I need to make other arrangements.

You shouldn't ever add a new fish directly to a tank with copper. They should be added to a clean mature qt for observation then slowly ramp up the copper so they can adjust

I don't disagree, but I know for a fact wholesalers/stores frequently don't have this luxury.

Question is does this specific species of fish have a known toxicity to copper such as many scaleless species (blennies etc)?

I can't help you on the specific species sorry. I know lots of stores probably add fish to copper systems but they don't care and if you can avoid doing so why not. If better and probably less stressful on the fish ... Either way good luck
