filling tank issue

I am filling a tank with salt water made from RODI.
After adding IO I mixed the water with a power head for about 3 hrs. As I fill the tank I am getting a film on top with foam on the sides of the tank..
Can someone tell me what may bee causing this?
I noticed when I first added the salt, I got something that looked like feta cheese on the surface that I removed with a net.

All the tanks i've set up have always had this at first, but quickly disappears. My guess is it's something in the sand.

I agree, normal from filling a new tank. Once you start running everything, that stuff will go away and the cloudiness will clear up too.

Good timing. I'm also filling up my tank for the first time today and noticing this exact issue. Glad I saw this thread knowing it'll go away :thumbsup:

New sand will do that. It will go away and look much clearer in a few days.

Also using a filter sock will help also.
