Filter pad

I purchased a large sheet of blue/white filter pad to put in my rear chambers of my tank and after cutting and making everything smaller I rinsed in RO water to try to get the small pieces out. So I just changed out my filter pads in my tank and noticed there are pieces floating in tank now.....


What does everyone do to stop this?? Or is there real no way to stop it??

Although I haven't used mechanical filtration in years, when I did I used what sounds to be the same stuff. The little particles will get filtered out in short order. I wouldn't worry too much about it

Okay thank you that’s what I thought just wanted to be on the safe side of things, I know salt water can be tempromental

The "color" of the pad should dictate whether or not it needs attention IME. GL.
