Filter socks and Nitrates?

How often you change your filter socks?
Do you have any problem with nitrates?

I'm changing mine once a week and am keeping nitrates at .75 ppm to 3 ppm. Just curious how often you change them?

I usually could go about a week with a low bio-load. With a medium bio-load and how I feed a particular day, I am changing them out about 4-5 days.

I have a 480g display heavily stocked with over 60 fish. Many of which are large (7-8") tangs. I feed very heavily & my tank gets fed 3 times a day. I change my socks once a week.. Sometimes I go every week and a half. I have no detectable nitrates & no nuisance algae in my display either. I do however run 2 refugiums.

Heavy bio load, weekly. I buy the 2 pack of hydrogen peroxide at Costco for like 1.99, soak the filter sock in peroxide for about an hour, toss in the washing machine and done. Comes out looking almost like new, simple maintenance that keeps the ditritus off the sand and rocks.
