Filter Socks

Are filter socks required in the sump, if you have a good refugium and skimmer?
If yes, then how often do you replace them? I had a bad accident recently. I went on vacation and the filter socks overflowed and around 1o gallons of water was on the floor

If your talking about filter socks then I change my at least once a week, and it's 9inx14in.

No filter socks are in no way required, it is totally up to you if you want to use them.

Place them in an area so that if they clog they will overflow into your sump...
