I am currently restarting my 55 gallon tank. I purchased a new Eheim Professional 2227 Wet Dry Filter, does anyone have any information on how good or bad this rates to a sump or canister filter.I have been told it is good cross between both.
The tank will have live rock at first and then fish, would love to go into reef but would like to get this under control first. Any Suggestions ??

Okay, a bit late, but live rock should do all the filtration that's needed for a reasonable fish load.

The wet/dry can work. I'm not afraid of it. I just choose to go with a dsb, live rock, efficient skimmer and water changes right now. There are plenty of posts that don't deal with a wet/dry that are having nitrate problems. To each their own.
