I have one of the 40 gal stretch hex's from petco and and just got a stand for it. Just ordered a 24" 4 bulb t-5 setup. going with either a modded seaclone or a CSS skimmer. Now, my question is that the only size sump i can fit under the stand is a 10 gal. I dont think this is going to be big enough for a skimmer, a fuge, and a return pump and heater. So if i go with a hang on back skimmer and two maxijet 1200's in the display is a AC110 modded into a fuge going to : A= give me enough refugium space to be worth it, and B= have enough room in it for a suitable heater or maybe two heaters? how deep is ur tank because if it is really deef do not do t-5. the light will not be strong on the bottom instead do MH

depth is 20 inches i believe....and i have seen same setup with tek fixture with clams on sandbed

Why not do a sump and hang on equip.? Sure it's nice to hide heaters, skimmer, etc. down there, but keeping the tanks water level consistent and letting changes due to evaporation happen in the sump is a real benefit to me.
