On a reef tank, do you suplement a sump with a canister filter? I wasn't sure if a sump/fuge takes care of everything or not. This may be a stupid question. If so, you shouldn't make fun of people with mental handicaps.
not stupid if ya don't know.
I do not use one currently but have in the past to run carbon. It really is just a matter of using a setup that works for you and your livestock. There are so many ways of having a successful tank as many of the really nice club tanks can attest to. Some have refugiums, sumps and some do not.
I personally do run a fuge and a sump mainly as a way to have multiple tanks using fewer electrical devices and such. As it turns out though I think I use more..lol
i dont have a sump, and i use a canister filter,i know when its time to change out the filter because my water gets that cloudy look,i keep mine going 24-7
