I have a pair of clowns that i discovered both have some type of rotting or fungus of their fin. Do any of you know what this is or how its caused?
Ive had these guys for almost three years. :(

you might check in the fish disease and treatment forum. theres some good reading about various parasitic infections and remedies in there. with clowns i have had best luck with freshwater dips then infection-appropriate treatment in a hyposaline qt. is it in their gills also? the thread subject sounds like it but the message body doesnt mention it in their gills. have you added any new inhabitants to the tank lately? they are pretty fish, i hope that all goes well with them.

I've dealt with this same thing, but in my freshwater fish. There is a solution that you can buy called Maroxy that works wonders for infections like this. You will have to QT of course.

When I had it on my fish, the infection wiped most of them out faster than I could get a proper diagnosis for it. Out of 13 fish, I managed to save 2... most of them had been with me for 8-10 years.

Maroxy is a pretty gentle medication and I havn't seen any adverse reactions to my freshwater tank in using it.
