Finally a big tank...72"x72"x24"

WOW!! :eek1:

that is awesome. i dont know where you put your tank, but if it were me, i would put that in the upstairs bedroom so i could see it all the time!

...yes, im joking

Haha I was just saying in another thread that I've never seen a 72x72x24 setup, but now I have!
Looks great, but I'm pretty sure those fish are lonely in there ;)

I am taking this tank extremely slow. The plan is to add another 5 Chromis, a school of Bartlett's Anthias, a Vlamingi Tang, and maybe a couple of others.

Oh yeah...that clam in there is a 14" long Gigas. : )

I wish I had room for something with a 72"x72" footprint, my next build is probably going to be 96"X48". What is the thickness of the acrylic?

Looks to be 1"?

IS there a black plastic rim around the top of the tank?

that tank is a very uneque built tank. it has a completly open top on it. there is only a steel rim all the way around the top to hold the sides in. the tank is constructed of 3/4" acrylic for the sides and if i remember right its 1/2" on the bottom.

by the way richard. the tank is looking really awesome! it looks like you have been collecting some larger pieces form people who are taking larger pieces out of there tanks.

I assume that the rock rubble is there to try to keep all the sand from blowing away....I have a similar problem in a couple of spots, so I recognize that solution!
