I could never get him but now he stops and poses for the camera.

Are they reef/coral safe?

No they are not seef safe as puffers in general are not reef safe.

I've had him for a couple months. He's pretty reef safe, I have lots of zoos, star polyps, shrooms and other softies. He just swims around and eats algae, various worms and Ive seen a few tiny starfish get eaten by him. Hes never messed with the corals. He used to nip at my snails but now my snails hide when he comes around. Other velentini's may not be as reef safe as him though.

Almost forgot, he lives with the scooter blenny, a pair of maroon clowns and a snowflake eel. They all do pretty well together. So if your looking for odd combinations of fish for your tank you might have a chance housing any of these guys together.
